SupportSquad Launches "Fight Against Tech Stress" Campaign

People are more reliant on their personal devices now more than ever before. From smartphones and tablets to laptops and personal computers, personal devices are an integral part of our everyday life. The unfortunate downfall to the tech boom is that all these devices have added a new type of stress to our lives. Stress due to technology failures has become an alarming trend, and in response, SupportSquad has developed the 'Fight Against Tech Stress' campaign.

Fort Lauderdale, Florida – 15 December, 2011 - SupportSquad, the leading, national, technical support service, has launched a new campaign to help fight against tech stress. The "Fight Against Tech Stress" campaign is SupportSquad's new mission to relieve the undue stress that is caused by technology failures.

In order to accomplish this feat, SupportSquad offers very affordable tech support plans, with unlimited availability - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. "People are becoming increasingly more reliant on their personal devices - from laptops to smartphones." Sr. Product Manager with SupportSquad™, "This reliance has created a new form of stress that is unique to this generation."

Tech Stress occurs when our personal devices have some kind of system failure - everything from losing an important document when the system goes down; to the new iPhone update deleting all of our saved contact information. When this technical failure occurs, user reaction can range from slight disappointment to full-on device-throwing levels of frustration. With almost half of all tech users experiencing some form of system failure each year, many are now suffering from undue Tech Stress. The ‘Fight Against Tech Stress’ campaign is SupportSquad's answer.

Based on a report on the "Variances in the Tech Experience" recently released by the CMO Council, computer failure accounted for 40% of user downtime in the past year - 36% of these users experienced 24 hours of downtime, and 25% of these users were without computer access for a period of 1 to 5 days.

The ways in which users attempt to solve their computer problems can also increase their level of Tech Stress. While 37% of users attempt to fix the problems themselves, only 7% contact some form of technical support for assistance. Frustration due to failure in resolving computer problems is the second highest contributor to Tech Stress.

"Another factor is the time involved that it takes to resolve a problem," says Sr. Product Manager with SupportSquad. "On average, a user attempting to resolve an issue themselves can spend up to 8 hours dealing with the problem before they give up. By the time they get to some form of tech support their stress level is already fairly high."

When asked how computer failure most impacted their lives, 42% responded by stating that it had increased their stress level, with 7% responding that it created a high level of emotional stress.

"We have noticed that Tech Stress has become a recent trend," says Sr. Product Manager with SupportSquad, "and that is why we have developed our 'Fight Against Tech Stress' campaign. By offering affordable tech support plans, with unlimited availability - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - we hope to help users to decrease their levels of tech stress, with the ultimate goal of eliminating Tech Stress altogether."
